Heaten, established in 2020 in Norway develops high-performance, high-temperature heat pumps—the HeatBooster, aiming to make your industrial process heat efficient, flexible, scalable and environmentally friendly. In 2023 I joined as CEO to drive the growth agenda and do the fundraising for the next phase of the company. In 2024 the company was acquired by Advent International as part of their growth strategy.
Scaling up a startup
In the beginning of 2023 Heaten was finishing the detailed design of the first 2 MW heat pump and doing the concept design of the 8MW heat pump. We set up the supply chain, while doing the verification testing of the design. Several iterations were needed to confirm the design and technical capability. At the same time we were scaling commercial capabilities and building up staff in Remscheid Germany to support operations and serice.
Fundraising
In this period we have been constantly raising funcds to bring the business further, leading to an acquisition of all shares and further capital injection by the new owner.
Role
As CEO I managed the company, was partly CFO and did the fundraising.
